A rye bread named after Markus' hometown in Germany. The Eifelbrot is a 70% Rye loaf full of rye flakes, soy flour, white flour, sunflower seeds, millet, potato flakes.... What else can we say? Each loaf is extremely dense and weighs over a pound.
osen's Eifelbrot contains no preservatives, but the special baking procedure and the high moisture content give this great tasting bread a shelf life of more than a week .Although we usually recommend to cut only as many slices as you actually want to eat, because sliced bread dries much faster, it's different with this one. We pre-slice it and pack it in plastic. You should keep the remaining bread in a plastic bag and store it in a dry cool place. During summer time refrigeration is recommended to avoid mold.rnrnIf you choose to freeze the bread, tightly wrap it in a plastic bag. It will keep up to 2 months. To serve from a frozen state, please let it thaw slowly (overnight) inside the plastic bag.
This product has, with 7-10 days of shelf life, excellent shipping qualities. We recommend a 2-day ground shipping in order to reduce shipping costs.
This Pumpernickel-like bread with lots of grains is great for canapés and everything that calls for a heavy rye bread with the extra bite. It also goes very well with cheese and is a variety improver to any buffet.
